Nokiidaa Trail Design and Construction

Aurora, Ontario

The Nokiidaa Trail Design and Construction represented the final connecting link of a trail system extending from the southern parts of Aurora to the northern limits of East Gwillimbury.

Phase I consisted of the detailed design and approvals for a granular trail and wooden boardwalk on helical piers through the East Holland River valley and wetland area north of St. John's Sideroad in Aurora.

Phase II consisted of the layout, design and approvals of a pedestrian bridge and asphalt walkway within the boundary of Newmarket.

Phase III consisted of wetland/habitat creation features such as a new pond, turtle nesting areas, snake hibernaculums,native tree, shrub and grassland plantings and the installation of over twenty-five nesting boxes.
