Stiver Mill Restoration

Markham, Ontario

MSA prepared all landscape concepts and final working drawings for this Award Winning project in old downtown Unionville. (Markham Design Excellence Award, 2014) The old Stiver Mill and original Unionville Train Station have been carefully restored into an interpretive museum and local community meeting rooms and gathering spaces. The heritage design required large outdoor gathering spaces of wooden boardwalks and decking to connect the mill and train station to Main Street, Unionville. Rough cut hemlock decking, board and batten fence details and a decorative metal fence help blend the landscape features with the outstanding heritage restoration details of the Stiver Mill and Train Station.
